just a glove, a bat, and an open field

Summer Sandlot Days

Free drop-in baseball for kids this summer at Tahoma Elementary School Upper Field. No team. No roster. No tryout. Just skill games, some fundamentals, and good old-fashioned fun — with a scrimmage if we get enough players out there.

Location Tahoma Elementary — Upper Field
Cost Free
Commitment None — drop in whenever
Gear Glove + cleats

This isn't a team thing.

Summer Sandlot Days is just pickup baseball. There's no roster to make, no tryout to pass, no team you're joining. You don't need to be "good enough" — you just need a glove and a willingness to play.

Expect a mix of fun skill games, some fundamentals work (throwing, fielding, hitting), and if enough kids show up, we'll cap it off with a scrimmage.

A waiver and quick sign-up are still required before stepping on the field (standard stuff — see below), but that's it. No commitment beyond the day you show up.

✍️

Sign up before you show up. Every player needs a signed waiver on file — do that below ahead of the session you plan to attend.

Bring your friends! More players means more fun — skill games, fundamentals, and a real shot at a scrimmage by the end of the session.

Heads up: best suited for kids with some prior baseball experience. This isn't a beginner clinic — just open play.

Participation Waiver & Acknowledgments

Participation Waiver and Assumption of Risk

I understand that participation in baseball involves inherent and other risks, including but not limited to risks arising from throwing, catching, hitting, batted or thrown balls, running, sliding, stretching, conditioning, drills, collisions, falls, field conditions, weather, and the use of bats, balls, helmets, training aids, and other equipment. Injuries may range from minor to serious and may include bruises, sprains, strains, fractures, dental injuries, head injuries, concussion, or other bodily injury.

On behalf of myself and my minor athlete, I voluntarily choose to allow my athlete to participate and knowingly accept the risks inherent in and reasonably related to Summer Sandlot Days activities. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, I agree to release Voltage Baseball Club and its directors, officers, coaches, volunteers, and agents from claims for ordinary negligence arising out of participation. This release does not apply to gross negligence, reckless conduct, willful misconduct, or any claim that cannot legally be waived.

Concussion / Head Injury Acknowledgment

I understand that concussions and other head injuries can happen in youth sports, including baseball. I acknowledge that I have received and reviewed information regarding concussion and head injury awareness. I understand that any athlete suspected of sustaining a concussion or head injury will be removed from participation and may not return the same day if symptoms are present or suspected, and may not return until applicable return-to-play requirements and appropriate medical clearance have been satisfied.

Sudden Cardiac Arrest Awareness Acknowledgment

Sudden Cardiac Arrest is a rare but serious medical emergency that can occur in youth athletes, including during or immediately after physical activity. Voltage Baseball Club is committed to athlete safety and requires families to review sudden cardiac arrest awareness information before participation.

I/we acknowledge that we have reviewed information regarding sudden cardiac arrest in youth athletes, including the nature, risks, symptoms, warning signs, prevention, and treatment of sudden cardiac arrest.

I/we understand that warning signs may include, but are not limited to: fainting or blackouts, especially during exercise; chest pain; unusual shortness of breath; dizziness; unusual fatigue or weakness; heart palpitations or a racing/skipping heartbeat; or a family history of sudden cardiac arrest or unexplained sudden death.

I/we agree to notify Voltage Baseball Club immediately if the athlete experiences any concerning symptoms, has a known heart condition, receives a new medical diagnosis, or is advised by a medical provider to limit athletic participation.

I/we understand that if an athlete experiences concerning symptoms during a Voltage Baseball Club activity, VBC may remove the athlete from participation and require parent/guardian follow-up and/or medical clearance before the athlete returns to practice, training, or play.

Emergency Medical Treatment Consent

If I cannot be reached promptly in an emergency, I authorize Voltage Baseball Club staff, coaches, volunteers, or designated personnel to obtain reasonable emergency medical evaluation and treatment for my athlete as deemed appropriate under the circumstances. I understand that Voltage Baseball Club is not providing medical insurance and that I remain responsible for any medical, hospital, ambulance, or related expenses incurred on behalf of my athlete.

Rules and Conduct. I agree that my child will follow all instructions from on-site coaches, and I understand that participants who do not comply with safety guidelines may be asked to leave.

By checking the box below, I confirm that I am the parent or legal guardian of the named participant, that I have read and understand the waiver and acknowledgments above, and that I agree to these terms on behalf of myself and my child.
